Omakase (お任せ) directly translates to - "I leave it up to you."

Omakase is chef-curated dining experience, where guests leave the menu and details up to the chef. The meal is typically lead by the ingredients sourced that day by the chef, and prepared for only a small number of guests, who have direct interactions with the chef as he prepares each dish.

Omakase by P48 is a small, calm, textural space nestled at the back of Prefecture 48. It has a rotating roster of acclaimed sushi chefs, preparing their own style of omakase. For this project Magnus Design Office created a silent brand that can sit silently in the background, allowing all focus to be on the chef. This project was about reduction and purification, not exclamation!

Created for Azabu Group

Outside of subtle venue signage, a noren curtain, a chefs jacket and a single small format menu, the Omakase by P48 has no other touchpoint. The focus is entirely on the chef.
